Trinket Pot Workshop: Exploring 3D Forms in Metal

Join Amber Cooper-Green for an in-depth, hands-on workshop focused on creating beautifully constructed trinket pots. This session is all about stepping beyond flat forms and developing your skills in three-dimensional metalwork.

You’ll be guided through the process of designing and fabricating a small lidded container in copper, learning how individual components come together to form a cohesive, functional object. Along the way, you’ll explore new approaches to familiar tools and techniques, expanding both your confidence and precision at the bench.

Key techniques covered include:

  • Forming and assembling 3D shapes from sheet metal
  • Soldering long seams cleanly and securely
  • Achieving accurate shaping for a seamless fit between lid and base
  • Refining construction methods for strength, balance, and finish

Amber will share practical tips and insights from her own making practice, helping you troubleshoot challenges and refine your craftsmanship as you work.

This workshop is ideal for intermediate makers who already have a foundation in sawing, soldering, and filing, and are ready to push their skills further. It’s a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of form and construction while creating a finished piece to take home.

The class will be taught in copper as standard. If you’d prefer to work in silver, please get in touch in advance and we’ll advise you on materials and what to bring.
